Expert Advice For Perfect Wedding Shots

For most couples, there comes a time in their relationship when the topic of marriage crops up. For some, this may sound alarm bells and for others relight their creative spark. When the creative juices start flowing, ideas come left right and centre. Be aware this can also be the start of world war III, if you find yourself in a full blown row over what colour you would like the favours to be it may be time to consider marriage counselling. There is however one topic that both sides of the party tend to agree on, that is choosing the right wedding photographer. To a lot of couples this means “finding someone who can take emotional but beautiful shots, and provide us with long-lasting memories of a day that will, no doubt, go by very quickly” (Brian & Emma – married June 2014).

From engagement shoots to blogging, Robert Tate asked group of local wedding photographers to share their top tips for the perfect wedding day imagery…

Wedding Insurance

Insurance policy

As soon as I mentioned insurance I imagine your jaw just dropped, please don’t think I’m turning into a fully suited Yankee selling you life insurance, I’m not!

I presume your thinking ‘why on earth do I need Wedding Insurance?’

Well think about it another way, take your mobile phone for instance. Taking into account your monthly tariff your likely paying £600+ over a 24 month contract. If the sales rep tries to up-sell you insurance it is likely to cost you around £8 per month, over 24 months that’s over £200! In total your paying £800+ for a phone that likely costs less that £150. So I imagine the majority of people forgo insurance and run the risk of breaking or loosing their mobile phone and replacing it with a cheap-as-chips handset when the time comes.

Now consider these important facts:

  1. The average wedding costs almost £20,000.
  2. Couples usually spend around £4,000-£8000 on the reception alone.
  3. The dress and other outfits can easily add up to around £2,000.
  4. Don’t forget to add the wedding rings, flowers, cake, transport, honeymoon, photographer, the cost of stag and hen endeavours – even stationery.

Not only is there the financial aspect to take into consideration but also other less obvious risks such as:

  1. Wedding attire damage.
  2. The re-taking of the wedding photos.
  3. Cancellation due to illness or bereavement of the immediate family.
  4. The caterers fail to turn up at the reception.
  5. The wedding rings are lost.
  6. The wedding transport fails to turn up.
  7. Cancellation due to the venue being double booked.
  8. Public liability property damage.
  9. Wedding presents are lost or stolen.
  10. Financial failure of suppliers.

one thing to note is that these facts are provided by wedding insurance brokers and so directly reflect the claims made. They are not applicable to every wedding, they only emphasise how much the average wedding costs and what can go wrong at your wedding. I suggest that you weigh up the pros and cons of taking wedding insurance and make the decision for your self.

In this day and age some couples are reluctant to save in order to place a deposit down on the house of their dreams in order to tie the knot. Instead they put all their savings into their wedding, Which may turn out to be the devil in disguise.

Final Word

You can’t replace a lost wedding like you can a mobile phone!

Wedding Transport For The Bridal Party

wedding transport for the bridal partyIf it’s got four wheels then it’s man territory!

Wedding transport is a very important aspect of the wedding. There is nothing worse than waiting for hours for your wedding car while all your guests are waiting at the church. You want to be able to turn up when you want in a calm and composed manner. It can be frustrating figuring out exactly how many cars you require, what kind they are and when they should arrive, on top of that you have the added pressure of your wedding budget looming over your head.

There are so many combinations the possibilities are endless, will you arrive fashionably late with your father and keep your groom waiting at the altar, or turn up on time with all your bridesmaids in tow?
